About Thor Systems, Inc.

Thor Systems, Inc. is a small, successful, independent software vendor. We have been profitably developing outstanding custom software since 1985.

Our experience ranges from main frames to Pocket PCs, spanning decades, platforms, toolsets and industries. This uniquely qualifies us to deliver powerful solutions that are both sophisticated and simple.

We use object oriented techniques, design patterns, and test-driven methodologies. Our products leverage the power of Microsoft .NET technologies.

Our goal is to expand the job scheduling software market to include template based work flows, interactive batch and mobile control at a cost within reach of most administrators.

Our staff has experience with volume batch processes since 1980. We know batch processes. We’ve written them, run them and nursed them through the night. Our software product, Thunder Batch, is the sum of everything we’ve learned along the way.

Thunder Batch... Past, Present and Future

  • In 2000, we developed our first scheduler: a custom project on Windows servers.
  • In 2002 ‘Thor Systems Batch’ was developed in the .NET framework. It remains active in major financial institutions today. Leaps of technology enabled mobility and more power, so a massive upgrade process began.
  • ‘Thunder Batch’ Version 2 debuted in 2005 with ‘real-time’ scheduling, execution of everything possible from the command line and scripting host, and supporting a Windows Mobile client.
  • 2006 saw stabilization and many usability improvements including ‘embedded assistance’, ensuring that the ‘right help’ is ‘right there’ in Version 2.1. ‘Thunder Batch’ was widely marketed via the internet and our AJAX-enabled web site.
  • 2007 will bring Version 2.2 running on .NET version 2.0 and executing Power Shell scripts. Version 2.3 supporting .NET version 3.0 will include WPF, WCF and WWF-related enhancements.
  • Version 3 will follow, distributing and balancing work among servers and across platforms. Thunder Batch will follow the .NET runtime to any platform it supports!
